The United States is increasing its force in strikes against Iran, deploying B-1 bombers for the first time since fighting resumed earlier this month.

US Central Command deployed the B-1 during its mission on Tuesday, signaling a significant escalation in US attacks, Axios notes.

The B-1B Lancer can fly at supersonic speeds while carrying a 75,000-pound payload, according to the Air Force.

It is not currently clear what the B-1 was used to attack.

The US launched an 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iran last night, US Central Command announced, sharing video from the attacks. In a statement, US Central Command said the strikes “targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”
