The Red/Green Axis Comes Out in Force in New York City

The indispensable Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has put together a compilation video of some of the Nakba observances in New York City on May 15 and 16. The whole thing was a lie from the beginning to end, since the Nakba commemorates the time when the Jews supposedly forcibly expelled the Muslim Arabs from Israel in 1948, when actually the Arab Higher Committee told the Arabs to leave in anticipation of what it thought would be the imminent destruction of the nascent Jewish state. Nonetheless, the New York Nakba rallies celebrated Muslim and Arab victimhood, and — yet again — what they anticipate as the imminent destruction of the Jewish state. It was a revealing look at the red/green axis, the Marxist/Muslim coalition, in action.

Nerdeen Kiswani of the pro-Hamas group Within Our Lifetime declared: “No, Israel has no right to exist. Palestine has the right to exist and resist, and to reclaim land and freedom by any means necessary.” Kiswani was using the Marxist language of “resistance” against the “oppressor” to issue a veiled call for a new genocide of the Jews, which would certainly occur if Israel were destroyed.

Pal-Awda, a pro-Hamas NGO, led chants calling for the “Palestinian” Arab occupation of Israel: “To Acre and Haifa! We are returning! To Safad and Jaffa! We are returning! To Jenin! We are returning! To al-Quds [Jerusalem]! We are returning! I am returning! I am returning! I am returning!”

Jerusalem, as history and archaeology bear out, is the ancient city of the Jews. Those who are proclaiming their imminent return are the children of the Arab conquerors and colonizers who arrived there in the seventh century.

One speaker led a crowd in chants of “Ya shahid [O martyr], rest assured… We will continue the struggle!” In an Islamic context, a martyr is one who kills infidels for Allah and is killed in the process (cf. Qur’an 9:111). The chants continued: “From the water [the Jordan River] to the water [the Mediterranean sea]! From the water to the water! Palestine is Arab! Palestine is Arab!”

It’s interesting that they don’t say “Palestine is Palestinian” or “Palestine is for the Palestinians.” It’s as if they’re aware that the “Palestinians” are a propaganda invention, and that the people who are today called “Palestinians” are no different ethnically, linguistically, culturally, or religiously from the neighboring Arabs. They want not self-determination, but a 23rd Arab state, and a restoration of the land of Israel to the umma, as per the Qur’an’s command, “Drive them out from where they drove you out” (2:191).

One speaker prompted the crowd to chant: “Say ‘Allah’ and raise your voice!” If this were simply a dispute over land, one would not expect Allah to enter into it. But it is actually a jihad, as The Palestinian Delusion explains.

Raja Abdulhaq, the cofounder of Tamkeen and Quds News Network, declared: “Israel is a Westren [sic] colony. It’s a client state that does the dirty work for European and American imperialism. And if we do not put an end to it, then all of us will suffer the consequences of evil winning. Resistance is the only way to liberate people. Slavery did not end because black people sat down, having arguments with white supremacists. Slavery ended because men and women bled for their freedom.”

In reality, slavery ended because men who were not slaves bled for the freedom of the slaves. There was no large-scale slave uprising. It is a modern myth that the slaves freed themselves, invented in order to remove any suggestion of what is known as the “white savior complex.” But historical facts are what they are, however inconvenient they may be.

Abdulhaq added: “I am sorry for being blunt, I’m just tired of celebrating Nakba every single year, and starting over from having these debates with Zionists about who is right and who is not right. I don’t give a damn about what you think about who’s right and wrong.” Abdulhaq thus confirms the violent irrationality of his jihad.

Somewhat obscurely, Abdulhaq went on: “We might be grounded, but we’re not brave. And the people of Gaza have shown us that bravery will bring consequences. Israel is part and parcel of the American empire. Israel is the forefront, it’s the outpost of the capitalism system. And if it ends, capitalism will fall apart.”

He is speaking the language of Marxism to appeal to his leftist allies, but the destruction of Israel is really all about Islamic jihad.

How long can a nation stand the presence within it of people who hate it and want to bring about its downfall? America is finding out.
