Indiana Gov. Mike Braun signed a proclamation declaring June as “Nuclear Family Month” in Indiana.

“As a father of four and grandfather of seven, I have seen firsthand the impact that loving, committed families can have across multiple generations. As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, this proclamation recognizes the important role families play in shaping the future of our state and our country,” Braun said.

“Indiana will continue supporting policies that strengthen families and help the next generation thrive,” he added.

IndyStar has more:

Braun joins politicians in several other GOP-led states who have embraced alternative observances to Pride Month during June.

Earlier this year, Tennessee’s legislature passed a joint resolution designating June as that state’s own “Nuclear Family Month,” referring to a nuclear family with a husband and wife as “God’s perfect design for humanity.” The governors of Arkansas and Utah declared June “Fidelity Month” in their states, promoting dedication to family and patriotism. Neither of those proclamations limited fidelity to heterosexual couples, however.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt declared June as “Life Month” in the Sooner State.

“God authors every life. As image bearers, there is inherent dignity and value in every human life. That’s why Oklahoma is proud to declare June as Life Month. We’re committed to walking alongside every mother and ensuring the unborn are protected from conception through birth,” Stitt said.

“In Arkansas, June is Fidelity Month: fidelity to family, fidelity to country, fidelity to God,” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

Newsweek shared further:

The document states that the United States was founded on principles of faith, liberty and patriotism, citing references to God in the Declaration of Independence and comments from President George Washington about the importance of virtue and morality in self-government.

The proclamation says Arkansas’ commitment to spiritual and civic institutions is central to the state’s identity and argues that “cultivating fidelity to God, family, community, and country contributes to human flourishing and supports a healthy, stable, well-ordered society.”

It also states that Fidelity Month offers residents an opportunity to reflect on and renew their commitment to those values.
