White House border czar Tom Homan says he didn’t need a scheduled tour or a heads-up to find out what conditions are really like at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark.
He just showed up.
Homan said he made a surprise visit over the weekend, walked into the cafeteria, and ate the exact same meal being served to the detainees sitting around him.
That is a hard fact for the people who have spent weeks describing the facility as some kind of dungeon.
Rapid Response 47 posted the Homan clip as he pushed back on the Delaney Hall storyline:

The official account from the Department of Homeland Security has been pushing back on the narrative for days, posting directly about the Delaney Hall facility and what it actually offers.
The point is simple. The man running the operation is willing to eat the food and stand in the room.
Compare that to the activists and elected Democrats who have built a campaign around claims they refuse to verify in person.
Then a congressman did exactly what the critics would not. He went and looked.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew said he toured Delaney Hall himself and saw something very different from the public narrative:
I toured Delaney Hall today to see the facts for myself.
What I saw was clean, organized, and well-run.
Clean dorms. On-site doctors, nurses, and dentists. A law library. A regular library. A gym. A soccer field. Meals for allergies, kosher requirements, religious needs, and medical restrictions.

Van Drew’s list reads nothing like the picture Democrats have been selling.
Clean dorms.
On-site doctors, nurses, and dentists.
A law library, a regular library, a gym, and a soccer field.
Meals prepared for allergies, kosher requirements, religious needs, and medical restrictions.
His conclusion was blunt.
“So let’s stop pretending this is about conditions,” Van Drew wrote.
That last line is the whole story. When a facility has doctors, dentists, a law library, and kosher meal options, the fight stops being about how detainees are treated.
It becomes a fight about whether the law should be enforced at all.
President Trump’s administration has made clear which side of that question it is on, and Homan has been the public face of it.
The Delaney Hall narrative was supposed to be a pressure point. Instead, the border czar ate the lunch and the congressman counted the soccer fields.
The story Democrats wanted to tell is the one thing that didn’t survive a surprise visit.
Homeland Security pushed back on the Delaney Hall narrative in a series of official posts:
