June 25 (UPI) — A North Carolina man said he was “having visions” of lottery luck just before scoring a $100,000 prize from a Powerball drawing.

Charlotte resident Erik Cargile told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he had a good feeling about the $3 Quick Pick ticket he bought for the June 10 drawing from the Quik Trip on West W.T. Harris Boulevard in Charlotte.

“Lately I have been having visions of winning the lottery,” he said.

His visions came true when he scanned his ticket and was told he would have to collect his prize at lottery headquarters. Cargile said he wasn’t sure how much he had won until he arrived at the office.

“I was thinking maybe like $10,000,” Cargile said. “It was a shocking feeling when I heard.”

He had matched four white balls and the red Powerball drawing, earning a $50,000 prize that doubled to $100,000 thanks to his springing for the Power Play option, which returned a 2X multiplier.

Cargile said he plans to use his winnings to buy a house.
