Aug. 7 (UPI) — The Ontario Provincial Police teamed up with animal groups to rescue a mother cat and six kittens that were found to have made their home underneath a police cruiser.
The OPP North East Region said on social media that a member of the Forensic Unit in North Bay spotted the feline family taking shelter in the undercarriage of a police cruiser parked outside the station.
The kittens were estimated to be only about 5 days old.
Police teamed with Pet Save, the local Humane Society and PAWS to launch a two-day operation to remove the mother and kittens and take them to the Ontario SPCA.
“All seven animals are reported to be in good health and are expected to be available for adoption in the coming months,” the post said.
