Trump: ‘Good’ Conversations With Walz, Frey on ICE

President Donald Trump on Monday took a more conciliatory approach to the ongoing violent agitation against US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement actions in Minnesota, saying he has discussed the issue with two prominent state Democrats, Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who have been among his most heated critics on the roiling issue.

‘On a Similar Wavelength’: “Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “I told Governor Walz that I would have [White House Border Czar] Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all criminals that they have in their possession. The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future. He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I.” Hours later, he revealed he had also spoken with Frey. “I just had a very good telephone conversation with Mayor Jacob Frey, of Minneapolis. Lots of progress is being made,” he wrote in a second post. “Tom Homan will be meeting with him [today] in order to continue the discussion.” Related: Minnesota mayhem stokes shutdown fears over DHS spending…

Federal Judge Dismisses DOJ Suit Seeking Oregon Voting Rolls

US District Judge Mustafa Kasubhai, a Joe Biden appointee, on Monday dismissed a Justice Department lawsuit seeking Oregon’s unredacted voting rolls.

‘Great Concerns’: Kasubhai said he had “great concerns” over why the Trump administration wanted such private data on state voters. “The court dismissed this case because the federal government never met the legal standard to get these records in the first place,” a delighted Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said in a statement. “Oregonians deserve to know that voting laws can’t be used as a backdoor to grab their personal information.” Related: Trump set up election integrity fight with executive order…

India, European Union Finalize Massive Trade Pact

Is it a global shot back at President Donald Trump’s economic policies? “India and the European Union have finalized a landmark trade deal that will represent a quarter of the world’s economy, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today, as the two sides seek to hedge against fickle ties with the US,” Reuters reports.

‘Mother Of All Deals’: “After nearly two decades of on-off negotiations, the deal will pave the way for India to open up its vast and guarded market, the world’s largest, to free trade with the 27-nation EU, its biggest trading partner,” the wire service relates. “Yesterday, a big agreement was signed between the European Union and India,” Modi declared. “People around the world are calling this the mother of all deals. This agreement will bring major opportunities for the 1.4 billion people of India and the millions of people in Europe.” Related: Supreme Court to decide fate of Trump’s tariffs…

Google to Pay $68M to Settle Smart-Device Recording Suit

Were they listening the whole time? “Google has agreed to pay $68 million to settle a class action lawsuit arguing that its voice-activated assistant secretly recorded smart device users in violation of their privacy,” Fox Business reports.

Recording Everything You Feel? “The tech giant was accused of illegally recording and disseminating private conversations after its Google Assistant tool was triggered so it could send them targeted advertising,” the network details. “Google Assistant, which is only supposed to record when a user says phrases such as ‘Hey Google’ or ‘Okay Google’ or when someone manually pushes a button on the device, inappropriately recorded personal conversations when these ‘hot words’ were not used, without the knowledge of the users of Google smartphones, home speakers, laptops, tablets, Chromecast media players and even wireless earphones, according to the lawsuit.” Related: Cox Media marketers boast about listening to phone conversations…

Trump Hikes Tariffs on South Korea for Trade Pact Noncompliance

President Donald Trump on Monday announced he is raising tariffs on South Korea to 25% because the Asian nation has not ratified and is not complying with terms of a negotiated trade deal between the two countries.

‘Not Living Up To Its Deal’: “Our trade deals are very important to America. In each of these deals, we have acted swiftly to reduce our tariffs in line with the transaction agreed to. We, of course, expect our trading partners to do the same,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “South Korea’s Legislature is not living up to its deal with the United States. President [Lee Jae Myung ] and I reached a great deal for both countries on July 30, 2025, and we reaffirmed these terms while I was in Korea on October 29, 2025. Why hasn’t the Korean Legislature approved it? Because the Korean Legislature hasn’t enacted our historic trade agreement, which is their prerogative, I am hereby increasing South Korean tariffs on autos, lumber, pharma, and all other reciprocal tariffs, from 15% to 25%.” Related: Donald Trump, master of America’s destiny…
