Google is rolling out an update to the Gemini overlay on Android that essentially lets you “Circle to Search” and focus your prompt.
Once rolled out to your device, activating the Gemini overlay will show a “Circle anything or ask about this screen” prompt.
After circling, you can refine the area with the drag handles around the four-color glow. This lets you select anything on the screen and add it to your prompt as an image. Tapping the image in the overlay lets you access the existing set of drawing tools.
Meanwhile, the overlay’s plus menu has also added a “Screen content” option above the Camera to manually add the entire screen. That said, Gemini already factors in your screen if it’s relevant to your command, but today’s addition lets you be precise about it.
We’re seeing this widely roll out today with the latest stable version of the Google app (17.20). Force stop from App info if you’re not seeing it yet.
