For the second time in two days, the Colorado football team has added a cornerback recruit to the 2026 class.
On Wednesday, Maurice Williams Jr., a three-star recruit from New Orleans, announced that he has verbally committed to the Buffs and head coach Deion Sanders.
The 5-foot-11, 172-pounder from Edna Karr (La.) High School, committed one day after four-star recruit Preston Ashley (Brandon, Miss.) pledged to the Buffs.
Williams had been committed to Liberty, but chose to flip to the Buffs. Overall, he has 16 scholarship offers, including from Georgia Tech, Houston, Mississippi, UCF and Washington.
Williams is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, which ranks him as a top-45 player in talent-rich Louisiana and as the No. 125 corner nationally in the class.
CU now has four players committed for 2026, including Ashley, edge Domata Peko Jr. (Ventura College) and tight end Gavin Mueller (South Elgin, Ill.).
