The first approximately 1,100 documents of an estimated 80,000 related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy – and subsequent investigation of the killing – were released late on March 18. These documents are now available to the public in various forms, but all are accessible at the National Archive’s website
President Donald Trump spoke of releasing the JFK files during his campaign, and when in office, signed an order instructing the relevant authorities to begin doling out the documents. His order included documents related to the murders of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, also.
