After releasing developer betas 6 earlier today, Apple is now rolling out iOS 27 public beta 4, alongside corresponding updates for some of its other platforms. Here are the details.

New round of public betas now available

Apple just rolled out:

  • iOS 27 Public Beta 4: Build 24A5418b

  • Update, August 18: watchOS 27 Public Beta 4: Build 24R5353a

The release comes just hours after the company rolled out their corresponding beta 6 versions, introducing bug fixes and performance improvements as Apple fast approaches the official release date of these systems in a few weeks.

Today’s macOS 27 beta introduces a new wallpaper, alongside redesigned stoplight window controls for macOS 27 Golden Gate. Other notable changes include:

  • Pinned Messages user interface bug from beta 5 appears to be resolved in beta 6.
  • Updated iOS notification animation
  • Updated Preview icon on the Mac, matching iOS version from last week

The build number for each public beta is the same as that of its corresponding developer beta 6, except for macOS, which had build 26A5416b. Update, 9:15 p.m: Apple has now re-released the macOS 27 public beta 4, with build 26A5416b.
