MyPillow founder and Trump-endorsed warrior Mike Lindell just made one of the biggest moves of his life.

He’s stepping down as CEO of the company he built from nothing so he can devote 100% of his time, energy, and fight to becoming the next Governor of Minnesota.

In a powerful statement Tuesday, Lindell announced he has reduced his ownership stake to a minority position and handed day-to-day operations to a proven Minnesota team. He will remain on the Board of Directors and as a shareholder in the company he founded in 2004.

“Today, I’ve made one of the biggest decisions of my life. I’m stepping down as CEO of MyPillow so I can devote 100% of my time and energy to my campaign for Governor of Minnesota. Minnesota deserves my full attention, and that’s exactly what I’m giving it. I’m all in, and I can’t wait to earn your vote,” Lindell posted on X.

The official MyPillow news release was even clearer: “Minnesota comes first. This is the time to serve.”

“After 22 years of leading MyPillow, I know the company is ready for its next chapter and I know Minnesota cannot wait,” Lindell said. “This decision is not about walking away. It is about stepping forward to serve. I am putting Minnesota above myself, my title, and my business interests so I can give this campaign and the people of our state my full time, energy, and attention.”

Taking over as CEO is James “Jim” Furlong, who previously served as the company’s President from 2004 to 2019 and helped build MyPillow from a Minnesota startup into a national brand. Lindell made clear he trusts Furlong and the Board “to protect our employees, our customers, and our Minnesota roots.”

MyPillow’s manufacturing, jobs, products, and guarantees will continue without interruption. The company stays Minnesota-based and Minnesota-strong.

The announcement comes just days before Minnesota’s August 11 Republican primary. President Donald Trump has given Lindell his “Complete and Total Endorsement,” describing the MyPillow founder as one of America’s hardest-working patriots and predicting that he would be “spectacular” as governor.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Trump urged Minnesota voters to rally behind Lindell while blasting Democrat Amy Klobuchar and outgoing Governor Tim Walz.

The Gateway Pundit also reported in May that polling released by Lindell’s campaign showed him leading the Republican field ahead of the state GOP convention.

Lindell officially launched his campaign in December 2025, promising to confront government fraud, crime, excessive taxation, burdensome regulations, addiction, and Minnesota’s troubled education system.

Now he is putting everything on the line.
