April 20 (UPI) — Police in Wisconsin same to the rescue of a horse named Pico that escaped from his owner’s property amid heavy rains and flooding.

The Milwaukee Police Department said officers responded Friday to multiple 911 calls reporting a horse on the loose in the area of 33rd and Brown.

Ryan Sharp, a member of the Milwaukee Police Department’s mounted patrol unit, was among the officers who arrived on the scene.

“Once I got there, I was able to approach the horse initially. Walked away for a second. Just kind of persistent. Walked up to him, stayed calm. Show him the carrot, which drew his attention. He came in to me. Luckily, the owner had his halter on,” Sharp told WISN-TV. “Followed me right into the trailer. And, spent the night in our lovely, urban stables here. So I don’t think it was too mad about getting out of the rain.”

Owner Brandon Hobson said the horse, named Pico, was apparently following his appetite.

“When we left, I think we had a little bit too much sweet feed and treats come out of our pocket,” he said. “So he followed that trail, and then he kind of moved a barrier, and then he got out.”
