Xbox adds three new dynamic backgrounds for Series consoles

Microsoft has added dynamic backgrounds for Monster Hunter Wilds and two more games on Xbox Series X|S. If you’re currently exploring the Forbidden Lands for the Monster Hunter Wilds achievements or cooperatively working through Split Fiction (which could be one of the best Xbox games of 2025), now you can show your love for the games with animated backgrounds on your Xbox’s home screen.

Three new dynamic backgrounds appear on Xbox Series X|S

  • Dynamic backgrounds for Monster Hunter Wilds, Split Fiction, and WWE 2K25 are now available
  • You can only use dynamic backgrounds on Xbox Series X|S console, sorry Xbox One folks

Fans of Monster Hunter Wilds, Spilt Fiction, and WWE 2K25 can now use three new dynamic backgrounds — animated images exclusively available on Xbox Series X|S for your home screen. The Monster Hunter background features the hunter and Olivia facing down an Arkveld, with dust and pollen blowing across the screen.

As for WWE 2K25, it’s probably the coolest of the punch, solely featuring The Undertaker in front of a moon with a vibrant purple background filled with mist. Split Fiction fans can get in on the action with the key art, showcasing the game’s sci-fi and fantasy worlds with protagonists Mio and Zoe.

To add a new dynamic background on your Xbox Series X|S console, head to the General tab in your settings and click on Personalization. You’ll then find the dynamic backgrounds under the My Background tab.
