Where have the blade lights gone on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro? – SamMobile

Samsung introduced a substantial overhaul of the design of its wireless earbuds last year. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro adopted a sleek look with stems that had a light strip in them. These blade lights, as they were called, were a significant departure from any design choice previously made for this product category.

One would have expected such a significant design change to be kept around for the future. However, merely a year on, Samsung has decided to get rid of them.

Pick a lane, Samsung

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro on February 25. It has redesigned the earbuds once again, and while it has the same stem design like its predecessor, Samsung has opted for a more understated look for its new earbuds.

Keeping in line with the new aesthetic, it has removed the blade lights from the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro and opted for a brushed metal finish for the stems instead.

It’s unfortunate, as there was a lot of potential here that could have been exploited. For example, Samsung could have made them customizable, maybe added RGB options, etc.

However, Samsung—and consumers—had different priorities, as it revealed to us in a statement that you can read below:

We engineered the Galaxy Buds4 series to be our most comfortable Buds to date. We have refined the blade design to be more sleek and secure whilst retaining a premium look and feel. We considered various factors and found that with our insights, features like a re-designed reassessed touch area on the blades with premium, real brushed metal were a priority for our consumers.

So, yeah, the blade lights are no more, and Samsung’s statement tells us we shouldn’t expect them to make a return any time in the near future. On the bright side, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro offer various advantages over its predecessors, including a more premium design and higher sound quality, which should appease most buyers.
