Watch: Stuffed donkey returned to 5-year-old after social media adventure

July 23 (UPI) — A pink stuffed donkey found on a British Columbia ferry is back with its 5-year-old owner after taking an adventure chronicled on social media.

BC Ferries posted photos of the toy to social media after it was found aboard the Salish Raven ferry following a trip between Victoria and Pender Island.

The donkey, dubbed Churro the Burro by followers, was taken on an adventure that BC Ferries shared on its social media channels.

Photos showed Churro exploring the Salish Raven’s bridge, engine room and gift shop.

The posts made their way to the news media, and came to the attention of Abigail Broadribb, who hadn’t realized her son, Alfie, had lost his donkey until seeing an article about Churro.

“We’re just really grateful,” Abigail Broadribb told CTV News. “This is a very special experience for them to have a peek behind the curtain.”

Broadribb said the toy, formerly known simply as Donkey, will be keeping the new Churro the Burro moniker.
