Watch: ‘Spider-Man’ screening evacuated due to strong flatulence odor

Aug. 4 (UPI) — A screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day at a movie theater in Colombia was evacuated when the room filled with a foul, flatulent odor.

A video recorded at the Cine Colombia cinema inside the Plaza Bocagrande shopping mall in Cartagena shows movie theater customers — including one dressed as Spider-Man — filling the lobby after evacuating the theater.

The cause of the odor, which witnesses compared to a fart, has not been confirmed, but theories include a patron with a medical issue passing a large amount of gas or the detonation of a stink bomb, a prank device that gives off a strong odor reminiscent of flatulence.

Cine Colombia and local authorities have yet to officially comment on the incident.
