June 9 (UPI) — Travelers on a road in Scotland were surprised to capture video of a non-native animal on the loose: a skunk.

The video, shared by Fife Signal Jammers, shows the skunk wandering alongside the B914 road just outside of Kelty, in the Fife council area.

Skunks are native to the Americas, but are sometimes kept as pets in Europe.

The skunk’s owners confirmed the 5-year-old animal, named Ava, burrowed out of her enclosure near where the sighting occurred. The owners said humane traps have been set and they are hoping Ava remains close to home.

The Scottish SPCA said it is aware of the loose skunk and urged nearby residents to report any sightings.
