May 11 (UPI) — An animal services officer in Georgia was able to use a leash and his cellphone flashlight to fish a trapped kitten out of a deep drainage system.
The Fulton County Police Department said on social media that Animal Services Officer Eubanks responded to the location where the kitten was reported to be trapped and discovered that “the unusual location made it very difficult to even see the kitten let alone rescue it.”
Eubanks held his phone with one hand and used the other to lower the leash into the drain in an attempt to lasso the stranded feline.
The post said it took Eubanks about two hours of attempts to finally get the leash around the kitten and hoist it to safety.
