Aug. 6 (UPI) — A Georgia sheriff’s deputy engaged in a hoof chase with a calf he spotted wandering down the middle of a road — and the incident was caught on camera.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was driving on Hopewell Road when he found the young cow wandering in the middle of traffic.
“Knowing the little escape artist was one car away from becoming a dangerous traffic hazard, Deputy Hammock didn’t hesitate. He pulled over, channeled his inner cowboy, and safely wrangled the calf off the roadway,” the post said.
The sheriff’s office’s public information officer happened to spot the scene unfolding while driving home from work and stopped to take video of Hammock escorting the calf back to its pasture.
