June 10 (UPI) — A dedicated Missouri Lottery player said unexpectedly spotting his favorite scratch-off game at a store led to his winning a $100,000 prize.

The Cass County man told Missouri Lottery officials he is particularly fond of 24K Gold scratch-off tickets because they have brought him small prizes in the past.

“I hadn’t seen it in a while, so when I was in the gas station, I saw that yellow and said, ‘Ooh, 24K Gold,'” the player said.

The ticket he bought from Raymore Smokes & Liquor on South Madison Avenue in Raymore earned him a $100,000 prize.

“The most I’ve ever won was $1,000, so it was a little bit of a shock,” the winner said.

The winner said his prize money will go toward some new household appliances and enjoying his retirement.
