Two service members are dead after an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter crashed near Fort Hood in central Texas.
The cause of the crash is unclear.

Video of the aftermath shows smoke billowing up into the sky.
“Our immediate priority is securing the site and supporting the initial response efforts,” said Brig. Gen. Ethan Diven, Stars and Stripes reported.
“Our thoughts are with the crew and their families as we await further information,” he said.

Two people are dead after a helicopter crashed in Salado, Texas, on Wednesday, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.
The chopper is an AH-64 U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter that crashed in a field near Fort Hood in Texas, the U.S. Army said in a statement.
The crash is still burning, but no buildings or structures were damaged, the Bell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ABC News.
The chopper is based in Fort Hood, the Army said. Apache attack helicopters are two-seater aircraft.
