The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a plea to foreign travelers visiting the United States for the FIFA World Cup, urging those with a newfound love of ranch dressing to pack bottles in their checked bags when flying.
“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here… pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home. Thank you,” the TSA wrote on Thursday.
Other posts from the TSA on the subject of flying with ranch include, “ok, please avoid chugging your ranch outside security the airlines will check it for you,” and “days since the last airport ranch incident: 0.”
One person posted what they claimed was the oversized liquids bin at a TSA section before their flight, showcasing nearly a dozen bottles of various ranch dressings.
The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), Canada’s version of the TSA, echoed its American counterpart, writing, “TSA said it and we’re backing them up from the north. If you discover ranch during your visit, please remember: in Canada it also counts as a liquid. So yes, anything over 100 mL goes in your checked bag on the way home.” While the majority of the World Cup games are occurring in the United States, some games are being played in Canada and Mexico as well.
Kraft is also leaning into the crazy, announcing on Instagram that a TSA-compliant kit filled with ranch dressing would be coming soon. The company posted an image they said was partially generated with AI to showcase what it might look like, writing, “Some visitors leave with souvenirs. Others leave with America’s favorite dressing. Introducing Kraft TSA Compliant Ranch, a travel-friendly way to bring the taste of America home.”
