FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL — Tim Tebow, NCAA football legend, broadcaster, and philanthropist, will be on Capitol Hill Tuesday afternoon testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism.

Tebow’s testimony will shed light on the horrors of child trafficking taking place in the United States. The football star has been called to the Hill because the Tim Tebow Foundation has helped rescue over 3,500 survivors of human trafficking and currently operates 46 safe homes across the world.

“Our country’s most precious and vulnerable lives have been forgotten. Every day, these children lose hope, and it’s not the fault of law enforcement that these children wait. They need more resources, plain and simple,” Tebow told The Daily Signal.

The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism is led by Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo. Hawley’s subcommittee is committed to examining the crisis of child trafficking in the United States, especially in the wake of Biden-era policies that led to a spike in human trafficking that disproportionately harmed children.

“Child trafficking is a scourge on our society,” Hawley told the Daily Signal. “I am convening this subcommittee hearing to expose how our youth are groomed, exploited, and overlooked by the existing system,” he continued.

The hearing will specifically focus on digital exploitation of children. The subcommittee will look for gaps in the federal investigation system and identify how Congress can more effectively dismantle child trafficking systems and the criminal networks that profit from them.

“Congress must dismantle the criminal networks that profit from exploiting the most vulnerable among us and put an end to child trafficking,” Hawley told The Daily Signal.

In his testimony, Tebow will advocate for the Renewed Hope Act of 2026.

“I am deeply grateful to the members of Congress on both sides of the aisle who are coming together to support the Renewed Hope Act of 2026,” Tebow told The Daily Signal. “This legislation gives our nation the opportunity to build a stronger rescue team of analysts and investigators so that children who are suffering can be identified and protected,” he continued.

The Renewed Hope Act of 2026 was introduced by Rep. Laurel Lee, R-Fla., in January. The bill provides the Department of Homeland Security with resources to improve its efforts to combat child trafficking within the United States. It would allow for expert hiring, enhanced training, and grant more forensic capabilities to track these criminals.

“This is a problem we can solve. We have the tools and the expertise — we just have to commit the resources and the will to act,” said Tebow.

The subcommittee will also hear from Staca Shehan from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Ysamin Vafa from Rights4Girls, as well as Julia Einbond with Covenant House.

The subcommittee will convene at 2pm Tuesday and will be live streamed.
