The Papers: Chancellor ‘warns’ supermarkets and ‘own goal’

There’s a mix of stories on Sunday’s front pages. Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Chancellor John Healey warns supermarkets he will not allow them to take the public “for a ride” because of the Middle East crisis pushing up cost of living. He vowed to crack down on “price-gouging”, saying regulators have the the power to “clamp down on it if it happens”. Elsewhere, a smiling Prince Louis is pictured wearing a Welsh cycling hat while watching the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
