This weekend is the 25th anniversary of Texas Showdown with its 2026 installment taking place in Houston, Texas, U.S.A.

There’s over 280 participants signed up for Street Fighter 6 followed by just under 250 signups for Tekken 8. 2XKO sits at about 140 players while Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike each have around 100 names registered.
Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers) all sit at over 50 registrants each.
Other games featured at the event for tournament play include Dragon Ball FighterZ, King of Fighters 15, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R, Under Night In-Birth 2 [Sys:celes], Mortal Kombat 1, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, Killer Instinct, Soul Calibur 6 and Capcom vs. SNK 1.
Since Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 both just received new balance patches, this will be a perfect opportunity to check out how the meta is looking from high level players in both of these main titles.
Texas Showdown 2026 is also a qualifier on the SNK World Championship tour for both Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and King of Fighters 15.
