May 29 (UPI) — A South Carolina man went to the store for a loaf of bread and came home with a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $500,000.

The Midlands man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he stopped at the Piggly Wiggly store on South Guignard Drive in Sumter to pick up a loaf of bread, and ended up purchasing a $10 Ruby Red Treasures ticket.

He scratched the ticket off when he got home and revealed a $500,000 prize.

“It was surreal,” the player said. “You’re not sure about what you are seeing. I was checking the number of zeros.”

The winner said he has not yet decided what he will do with his prize money.
