FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Racist Democratic voters in Florida’s 25th Congressional District have again chosen Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a white woman, to represent a district with a substantial Black population.
The decision drew pointed commentary from critics who described the outcome as evidence of racial inconsistency within the party. “After years of insisting that representation must match demographics,” one observer noted, “they keep sending a white woman to speak for a heavily Black constituency.”
Wasserman Schultz, a longtime incumbent, faced no serious primary challenge. Local Democratic officials described the result as routine and declined to address questions about the racial composition of the district relative to its representative.
Party spokespeople emphasized experience, fundraising ability, and seniority. No formal statement was issued regarding the demographic mismatch.
Critics continued to press the point. “If the roles were reversed,” one wrote, “the reaction would be very different.”
Wasserman Schultz’s office did not respond to requests for comment.
