According to a report from The Christian Post, controversial Tennessee pastor Greg Locke revealed that federal agents conducted a pre-dawn raid on his family home as part of an investigation into claims of misappropriated church funds and other potential crimes.

Locke, lead pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Lebanon, Tennessee, shared the details with his congregation on Sunday, describing the incident as deeply traumatic, especially given the family’s ongoing grief.

The raid occurred just three weeks into a six-week sabbatical Locke had begun to mourn the loss of his 20-year-old son Evan, who died from a drug overdose in May. Speaking to his church, Locke expressed the added pain of the timing.

“The thing that angered me was not that it happened, but that the enemy kicked us while we were down. And it took away the opportunity for me to continue to grieve Evan. And so we’ve been the last few weeks just in this tailspin,” Locke said.

According to Locke’s account, around 6 a.m., approximately 60 federal agents surrounded the residence. He awoke to a faint knock at the door and, by the time he reached the front, agents had breached the entrance with a battering ram, entering in riot gear. Locke recalled being forced to the ground while pleading for the safety of his children inside.

“I was screaming, ‘I’ve got kids in the house. Don’t shoot. Don’t shoot. I’ve got kids in the house,’ and they dragged my wife outside in her night shirt and underwear, kicked our kids’ bedroom doors in, dragged my kids out of bed. Three of them were home,” Locke said.

The family was reportedly held outside as agents conducted an extensive search lasting about three hours. Locke stated that investigators had warrants for both the home and his media company, Locke Media. Agents seized phones, computers, and other devices, thoroughly examining nearly every part of the property. He noted they ultimately left with only a small box containing a few bank statements.

Locke indicated the probe centers on allegations of financial impropriety at the church, along with more serious claims including child trafficking, which he firmly denies. He mentioned the investigation has been ongoing for roughly two years, stemming from online accusations.

Following the raid, the family’s personal and church bank accounts were canceled after government subpoenas, severely disrupting operations. The church faces the imminent loss of its building, and Locke reported challenges in paying staff and covering essential bills like insurance, though the leadership team has continued without compensation.

“We have nothing to hide,” Locke emphasized to his congregation, insisting he has no intention of resisting the investigation. He acknowledged difficulties in providing requested information since devices were confiscated, requiring the church to start over with new equipment. Subpoenas have reportedly gone out to donors, former members, and missionaries.

A former church member who has publicly criticized Locke responded to the news, noting that federal search warrants represent only an early step in a potentially lengthy legal process.

Locke has maintained that he and his church will cooperate fully as the investigation continues. The FBI’s Tennessee field office did not immediately comment on the matter when reached by The Christian Post.
