July 23 (UPI) — Animal services officers in Ontario came to the rescue of a python found trapped inside the engine compartment of a resident’s car.
The City of Mississauga said on social media that animal services officers were contacted by a local mechanic who had been contacted by a local resident about a large snake under the hood of their vehicle.
“Our team arrived and one officer reached into the engine. To everyone’s shock, the python calmly climbed right onto their arm for a safe rescue” the post said.
The snake was taken to the Mississauga Animal Shelter, where it was found to be dehydrated with a few minor scratches. The python is now recovering in the shelter’s care.
