O’Keefe Media Group founder and legendary investigative journalist James O’Keefe sent a letter to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon on Friday, requesting an investigation into the Washington Nationals for religious discrimination against its own players.

The letter, drafted by First Amendment Attorney Benjamin Barr on behalf of O’Keefe and CatholicVote President and CEO Kelsey Reinhardt, follows a letter from Rep. Lauren Boebert, accusing the ball club of “unlawful religious discrimination” and calling on Dhillon and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to take “immediate and decisive action.”

According to Fox News, the DOJ has acknowledged Boebert’s letter. “The Department is reviewing the matter and will evaluate all appropriate next steps. As always, we remain committed to enforcing federal law and protecting civil rights,” a spokesperson said.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, undercover O’Keefe released an undercover video of Washington Nationals Director of Community Relations, Sean Hudson, admitting to religious discrimination against Christian pitcher Trevor Williams on Tuesday.

“One of our pitchers, Trevor Williams. He’s super Christian-Catholic, all these tattoos that mean a lot,” Hudson told the undercover reporter.

“The Dodgers had a group… who were drag queens who sometimes dressed up as nuns. [Trevor Williams] went on social media like… ‘This is my religion. You all are mocking it,’” he added.

Hudson was later placed on leave after his anti-Christian comments were made public.

O'Keefe announced the letter on X:

O'Keefe Media Sends Formal Letter To DOJ & @AAGDhillon Regarding Our Lates Washington Nationals Investigation

First Amendment Attorney @BenjaminBarr1A just sent the letter over to the Department of Justice in tandem with @RepBoebert & @CatholicVote who also sent formal inquiry letters.

We hope to see the DOJ take serious action against the religious discrimination against Pitcher Trevor Williams told to us by Nats Director Sean Hudson.

O'Keefe is also calling on the Washington Nationals organization to publicly issue a statement apologizing to the millions of Christians across the country and its fanbase.

This is a developing story.
