Will we eventually see Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2? Additional evidence has to come light that points in that direction.
A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has been rated in Taiwan – specifically for Lord of Hatred, one of the game’s expansions. Technically it happened at the very end of April – but it either went unnoticed, or was made publicly available in the database recently.
Here’s a look at the rating:
This actually isn’t the first time we’re hearing about the possibility of Diablo 4 on Nintendo platforms. You may remember that there was a similar classification – also in April – which appeared for the original Nintendo Switch. We covered that news here.
While this is our own speculation, if we had to guess, Diablo 4 is much more likely to release on Nintendo Switch 2 instead of Switch. The porting process would simply be a heck of a lot easier if the team only needed to consider Nintendo’s latest platform.
Rod Fergusson, who was overseeing the Diablo franchise before leaving Blizzard last year, previously said that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 would be “something to look at”. You can find all of his comments about that here.
Note that a rating doesn’t automatically confirm future plans. But given that we’re up to two ratings for this one on Nintendo systems, it could be a sign of things to come.
