Media Claimed Muslim Lawyer Was a Victim of Islamophobia. He Celebrated Terrorists.

It never fails. The innocent victims of ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘profiling’ turn out to be exactly who the government thought they were.

Earlier this week, Michigan-based attorney Amir Makled was detained by federal immigration agents while returning home from a family vacation to the Dominican Republic.

On Sunday at the Detroit Metro Airport, Makled — who is a U.S. citizen — attempted to pass through customs with his wife and children. The rest of his family was able to enter the country without issue. But when Makled’s turn came, he overheard one of the agents call for assistance from the “Tactical Terrorism Response Team.”

Makled does not think it’s a coincidence that he was targeted after deciding to represent this client following the Trump administration’s crackdown on visa holders who have expressed support for Palestine.

“The purpose of searching my phone doesn’t have anything to do with terrorism, there is only a chilling effect, and it’s done to be intimidating.”

Now, Makled running as the ‘progressive’ candidate for a position as one of the University of Michigan regents got caught doing.just that.

A candidate for the University of Michigan Board of Regents reposted, and later deleted, praise for Hezbollah and antisemitic remarks on his social media account, deleted posts obtained by The Detroit News show.

The posts on X, accessed through the internet archives, show attorney Amir Makled retweeted several posts in June and July 2025 praising members of the U.S. State Department-designated terrorist group. This included posts referring to the Hezbollah’s former leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed by Israeli airstrikes in September 2024, as a “martyr.”

Where does CBP go to get their apology?
