Aug. 19 (UPI) — A Netherlands woman discovered a snake in her bedroom closet that police later determined had escaped from a neighbor’s home.
The Limburg Police said on social media that the Blerick woman called authorities to report she had spotted a snake slithering through the clothes on her bedroom floor and the serpent had made its way into a closet.
Police discovered the snake, a non-venomous reticulated python, had escaped from a terrarium in a neighbor’s home.
The neighbor was brought into the woman’s home to retrieve the pet and bring it home.
“The owner will investigate how the python managed to escape and make sure it doesn’t happen again,” police said.
