May 22 (UPI) — Authorities in Texas wrangled a llama on the loose just one day after an escaped kangaroo was captured in the same city.
The Elmendorf Police Department said on Facebook that an officer was driving on FM 327 about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday “when he came across a llama in the roadway.”
The officer temporarily shut down the road while he and city field staff worked to wrangle the llama.
The llama, named “Captain,” was safely reunited with its owner. The road was shut down for about an hour.
The incident occurred just one day after police wrangled an escaped kangaroo in Elmendorf.
“Yes, we know this comes right after yesterday’s kangaroo capture. We promise we are not begging for attention — apparently the animals just saw the post and wanted their turn,” police wrote.
