Look: Indiana firefighter rescues kitten stuck in car’s undercarriage

July 8 (UPI) — An Indiana firefighter crawled under a resident’s car to rescue a kitten that crawled up into the vehicle’s undercarriage.

The Indianapolis Fire Department said on social media that a driver pulled up to the station about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and told firefighters they started hearing meowing coming from under the car after leaving a downtown parking garage.

“EMS Battalion Chief Jason Garner jumped into action and retrieved the little kitten from underneath the car, but not without some effort. BC Garner spent about 30 minutes trying to coax the little guy out from under,” the post said.

The department said the kitten was not injured, “but Jason’s duty shirt sustained significant injury.”

The kitten was turned over to Indianapolis Animal Care & Control.
