June 10 (UPI) — Firefighters in New York came to the rescue of a horse that jumped over the chest bar inside a trailer and became stuck on a divider.
The Rhinebeck Fire Department said on social media that crews were called Tuesday to assist New York State Police with the rescue of a horse stuck inside a trailer.
“On arrival, crews found that the horse had jumped over the chest bar and become caught in the trailer’s divider system and a tack trunk,” the post said.
The rescuers worked together with veterinarians from Rhinebeck Equine to lift the horse using specialized rescue equipment and remove a part of the trailer divider system to free the horse.
The horse was taken to Buttonwood Farm to be monitored overnight and is expected to make a full recovery.
