June 22 (UPI) — An animal rescuer in Colorado had to get “creative” when he was summoned to help a kitten trapped in a storm drain.
The Humane Society of the Pike’s Peak Region said Animal Law Enforcement Officer Wilson was called to a location where a kitten was trapped in a storm drain and hiding deep inside a pipe.
“Officer Wilson got creative, using food and some careful maneuvering with his equipment to coax the kitten closer. The moment the tiny feline stepped into position, he safely secured the kitten and pulled him to safety,” the Humane Society said on social media.
“Once out of the drain, it became clear this little survivor needed more help. The kitten is battling an upper respiratory infection and was unable to see, but is now receiving plenty of TLC from our veterinary team,” officials wrote.
