March 9 (UPI) — The German woman who holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of Barbies earned a second title by identifying the dolls while blindfolded.
Bettina Dorfmann, whose collection of 18,500 Barbie dolls earned her a Guinness World Record, appeared on the record-keeping organization’s German-language TV series The Great Show of World Records to make an attempt at a second title.
Dorfman was blindfolded and handed various Barbie dolls, which she identified by touch. She correctly identified 19 dolls in three minutes.
She said the key was using her hands to analyze the shape, hair and clothing of each doll.
Dorfman originally set the record for largest collection of Barbie dolls in 2005, when her collection was tallied at 2,500 different dolls. Her collection has since increased more than sevenfold, having been most recently counted at 18,500 in 2022.
