Look: Alligator visits drive-through lane at North Carolina bank

April 17 (UPI) — Police and animal protective services officers in North Carolina came to the rescue of an alligator that wound up in the drive-through lane at a Southport bank.

The Southport Police Department said on social media that officers responded alongside Southport Animal Protective Services personnel and Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office APS about 4 p.m. Thursday on a report of a large alligator in the drive-through lane at Truist Bank on Hew Street.

They arrived to find the alligator hiding underneath a vehicle in the parking lot.

The alligator was determined to have been struck by a vehicle, but had only minor injuries.

North Carolina Wildlife officials took custody of the gator and said it would be relocated to a more suitable habitat.
