Look: Albino boa found ‘lazily lounging’ next to Pittsburgh pool

June 30 (UPI) — Animal control officers and police were summoned to a Pittsburgh home where residents found an albino boa constrictor lounging next to their pool.

Pittsburgh Public Safely said on social media that police in Mount Oliver called Pittsburgh Animal Care & Control for assistance when a resident reported a large snake in their backyard.

The officers arrived to find the albino boa “lazily lounging on the raised pool deck,” the post said.

The snake was taken to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.

“While it is legal to own a boa constrictor in Pennsylvania, owners are responsible for ensuring their pets are securely contained. Escaped animals can hurt themselves, other pets, and even native wildlife,” officials wrote.
