‘King Charles is coming to Harlem’: What the royals did in the Big Apple

The King and Queen spent the final full day of their state visit to the United States in New York City.

The pair opened the day by paying their respects at the 9/11 memorial downtown, later parting during the afternoon: Queen Camilla promoted child literacy by reading ‘Winnie the Pooh’ to children at New York Public Library, while King Charles visited a community organisation in Harlem and fed chickens.

The King and Queen wrapped up their state visit by celebrating 50 years of the King’s Trust charity at the Rockefeller Center, where global ambassador Lionel Richie spoke.
