WASHINGTON — The day has finally arrived.
Americans who were forced to take an experimental COVID shot or lose their jobs, their livelihoods, their freedom itself now stand on the brink of something long denied: accountability. Hospitals followed protocols critics say turned wards into killing floors. Families buried the dead while one man collected cash prizes and a golden pension.
On Thursday at 8:30 a.m., the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee votes on whether to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress.
Update: The contempt vote passed out of committee on Thursday morning.
The vote follows his last appearance before the panel, where he sat stone-faced and invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times, refusing every question about origins, funding, treatments, and his own enrichment. Chairman Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has made clear a criminal referral can go straight to the Justice Department.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., has already delivered the indictment in plain language.
“His legacy is is that he’s a liar, and really, he’s a crook,” Hawley told The Gateway Pundit. “This is a guy who got rich during COVID using federal resources and federal employees to apply for grants. He got a million dollars in cash prizes, for himself. And then lied about it, tried to cover it up, and then when he got exposed…he took the Fifth over and over. I mean, I’ll just tell you, innocent people don’t usually take the Fifth. This guy took it 111 times; that tells you all you need to know.”
The cash did not appear by accident. Emails show Fauci’s staff working federal hours to polish nominations. The Dan David Prize alone put nearly $900,000 in his pocket. His household net worth climbed past $12 million. His pension approaches half a million dollars a year—higher than the president’s salary. While Americans lost everything for refusing the shot, the architect of the mandates grew richer.
Hawley did not stop at the money.
“Listen, it’s already illegal for any federal bureaucrat to use their employees at their office to go solicit cash prizes, and that’s what he did: a million dollars in cash prizes. And I’m not talking about grants. I’m talking about money that went into his pocket. We ought to not only make the use of federal instrumentalities illegal, we ought to say, ‘You can’t accept that money.’ That should be a crime. And really, he ought to be prosecuted for that. His networth: over $12 million right now. He gets a pension of half a million dollars a year. He’s the highest paid federal employee ever, more than the president.”

Gateway Pundit reporting on CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System data revealed the COVID shots had already been linked to nearly 20,000 deaths and more than 1.7 million adverse events by late 2021 — far exceeding all previous vaccines combined — even as studies showed zero COVID deaths among healthy children who were still forced to take the experimental product.
Hawley turned next to the remedy, and the lie that still shields the guilty.
“I mean it’s just — really —what he did, and how he lied about it, and the fact that he won’t take any piece of responsibility. This guy is someone who never should have been in that position, and really he ought to be prosecuted.
“I absolutely think we can hold him in contempt. I believe we will. I’m looking forward to casting that vote. And it doesn’t necessarily need to go to the full Senate. It can go straight to DOJ and I hope the DOJ will look at the fact that he improperly invoked the Fifth Amendment.”
The Fifth Amendment claim collapses under settled law. In Brown v. Walker, 161 U.S. 591 (1896), the Supreme Court ruled that a witness who has received a pardon “cannot longer set up his privilege, since he stands, with respect to such offense, as if it had never been committed.” A full presidential pardon removes the realistic risk of federal prosecution for covered acts. Fauci received that pardon. He invoked the privilege anyway—111 times—because he did not want the questions answered.
The pardon was supposed to be his shield.
Hawley tore it away.
“Here’s the deal: When you’ve gotten a pardon and immunity– which he has from Biden, you can’t invoke the Fifth Amendment. The Fifth Amendment is itself an immunity provision. He’s already got that. He knows that by the way. He just did it because he didn’t want to answer questions. He didn’t want to get exposed for all of his wrongdoing. So, he needs to be held accountable for that.”
“Saying he had ‘nothing to do with school closures‘– he recommended them; saying he ‘had nothing to do with masking‘— it was his idea; saying he’s just ‘an innocent public servant’— he got a million dollars in prize money for himself, unethically. This is a guy who cannot tell the truth and it was always all about him. He’s a narcissist deluxe. He has done so much damage. He needs to be held accountable.”
