iPhone Ultra will be unveiled next month, and a new leak indicates the device’s front cameras could be positioned in unusual spots.
iPhone Ultra’s front cameras might both be positioned in corners, not centered
When iPhone Ultra debuts, it will be Apple’s first attempt at a foldable iPhone. As such, the device will deviate in several ways from “normal” iPhone design—including with cameras.
iPhone Ultra is rumored to have two rear cameras—one Main and one Ultra Wide—plus two front-facing cameras.
It has two front cameras because the foldable will have two displays: one on the outside, and a larger display that’s revealed when unfolded.
Until now, we’ve been expecting the outer display’s front camera to be centered. But based on a new leak, it may have a more unusual placement.
A third-party screen protector that’s circulating online seems to show a camera cutout in the top-right corner of the outer display, and top-left corner of the inner display.

It’s very possible the accessory maker got things wrong. They’re making educated guesses like everyone else. But if the leak proves true, it would be a big departure from previous front camera placements.
Apple has always put the selfie camera at the top-center of the iPhone. Moving it to a corner could result in a lot of selfies (especially with groups) with users looking at the wrong spot.
Having the inner display’s camera off-center makes more sense. You can’t put a camera right where the fold is, and selfies will likely be more common using the outer screen anyways. But if that outer screen has an off-center camera too, it could require some serious user adjustment.
