June 4 (UPI) — A South Carolina man found helping out a relative by driving them to a doctor’s appointment paid off with a $75,000 lottery prize.

The Bamberg resident told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he was driving a family member to a medical appointment when he made a stop at the EnMarket store on the Main Highway in Bamberg.

“I had never bought a ticket at that store before,” the player said.

He bought a $3 Cash Lines ticket from the store and scratched off a $75,000 prize.

“That was pure luck,” he said. “I’m still trying to process it.”
