Google Home will roll out Gemini upgrades more widely in Europe, Asia-Pacific this week – 9to5Google

Following an announcement in early April, Google says that Gemini for Home upgrades are set to roll out more widely in Europe and Asia-Pacific nations this coming week.

Google Home chief Anish Kattukaran confirmed on Twitter/X this weekend that early access to Gemini for Home is being “scaled up” in recently-added regions across Europe and Asia-Pacific. “Significant” expansions have happened over the past two weeks, Kattukaran says, with the roll out continuing into this coming week.

It sounds like the rollout is speeding up, too.

Kattukaran explains that Google is “clearing” the queue for early access to Gemini for Home “every day.” So, if you’re in a region where Gemini for Home is supported, opting-in for early access through the Home app “bumps you to the top of the list.”

Google first opened up this expansion last year, but announced in April that it would expand Gemini for Home features to new countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. A signifcant language expansion arrived at the same time.

Google has continually been improving on Gemini for Home for months now, with the latest batch of updates delivering speed improvements, among other things.
