“The LGBTQ+ Predators. Branding team did not think this through.”

The Nashville Predators ice hockey team has unveiled a new Pride-themed logo and jerseys ahead of its Pride Night game set for Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils.

Describing the new jersey, the team wrote, “Inspired by the dreamy, expressive art styles of the 1960’s and 70’s, this design pays tribute to the generations who paved the way for LGBTQ+visibility and progress. The layered foundation represents those who came before us, lifting up today’s community through their courage and advocacy. Flowing through the logo, the vibrant wave symbolizes present-day self-expression, representing the freedom to live authentically, boldly, and without limits.”

The night will kick off with a “plaza party,” which will include an interactive “What Does Pride Mean to You” mural, as well as “activations from Imaginarium, Queertopia, the Frist Museum and more,” per the team. Musical group “The Cowgays” will be delivering the national anthem.

The team was roasted over the move, with many noting the nature of the team’s name in their posts. “You don’t need to change your logo for us to know the LGTBQIA+ crowd is full of predators,” one user wrote.

“The LGBTQ+ Predators. Branding team did not think this through,” wrote End Wokeness.

Former Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi wrote, “A team called the Predators with a fan base nicknamed ‘Smashville’ is having a pride night during a game with the Devils, and a band called the ‘Cowgays’ is singing the national anthem. There is so much material here.”
