Discover the Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition – XBOX Wire

During XBOX Games Showcase 2026, we shared a first look at Gears of War: E-Day — including a gameplay demo and the E-Day Direct — and revealed our Collector’s Edition, a premium offering designed to celebrate the series’ origins.

Available October 1, fans can play 5 days early as the Collector’s Edition includes the Xbox Series X Premium Edition of Gears of War: E-Day on disc, along with a curated set of physical items for fans who want to bring a piece of Emergence Day home.

At the center of the Collector’s Edition is a 15-inch collectible statue — a dynamic diorama inspired by the reunion of the ultimate brotherhood: Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. Rather than singling out one character, we chose to capture both together inside a collapsing structure – Marcus is desperately grabbing hold of his falling best friend, who gets a dramatic headshot on Feral Wretch emerging from an open E-hole below. The statue design is a riff off a moment we loved from our 2024 Announce Trailer – except the roles are reversed.

We did this intentionally so that we could feature Marcus holding the game’s Prototype Chainsaw Lancer, which gets its origins in E-Day. Other details we love are the blood-spattered Crimson Omen carved on the back of the statue and the battery-powered red light from the E-Hole which casts a haunting glow, bringing the moment to life.

For us, E-Day is defined by two beginnings: the day everything on the planet Sera falls apart, starting the Locust War and the start of the unbreakable bond between Marcus and Dom, formed by overcoming their shared grief. We designed the statue to tell both stories at once.

That same theme carries through the rest of the collection. The included SteelBook, illustrated by our longtime collaborator Luke Preece, features a detailed illustration of Marcus on one side and Dom on the other. Both are depicted holding the COG tags of their fallen friend and brother, Carlos Santiago – whose death acts as a thematic ghost throughout our story.

Inside the Collector’s Edition, a pair of replica COG tags are those very same tags, engraved with Carlos’ name and the special “ES” marking for the Embry Star commendation, awarded after his death at Aspho Fields. The tags themselves are forged from zinc alloy, laser-engraved, matched to exact in-game geometry, and finished on a heavy game-accurate chain. As a team, we truly feel like these are the best tags we’ve ever made.

We’ve paired them with a replica photograph that appears in-game of Dom, Carlos and Marcus in happier times.

We truly wanted the Collector’s Edition to feel authentic and special because of how much we love Gears and our appreciation and respect for the elements that give life to this universe. That includes caring about every part of the experience, down to the keepsake box, which we hope is something you display, not tuck away. Details throughout reinforce the tone of E-Day, including a built-in display drawer beneath the statue that houses the tags and is inscribed with a line from the COG oath: “I shall hold my place in the machine.”

And finally, we’ve included a premium art print of the Feral Wretch — the first Locust creature to emerge on Emergence Day — presented in a portfolio case, along with a sincere thank-you note from our team.

In addition to its physical collectibles, the Collector’s Edition includes the Premium Edition of Gears of War: E‑Day, featuring up to 5 days of early access, the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, Emergence Omen Weapon Skin, five seasonal customization packs (beginning with the Emergence Pack at launch), and 1,000 Iron in-game currency. Pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition also grants early access to the Open Beta starting August 6, 2026.

For us, this Collector’s Edition represents more than a product – it’s an opportunity to create something meaningful and special. We approached it as fans ourselves, building something we would genuinely want to own. We hope you love it as much as we do.

The Gears of War: E‑Day Collector’s Edition will be available for XBOX Series X and Steam. The XBOX Series X version includes a physical disc.
