Dr. Anthony Fauci intentionally influenced intelligence analyses to downplay findings that the Covid virus originated in a Chinese laboratory, testified CIA special operations officer James Erdman in a May 13 hearing of the Senate Homeland Security Committee. For chairman Rand Paul, this was a long time coming.
In 2023, Sen. Paul wondered if Dr. Fauci “convinced the CIA to dishonestly obscure the lab origin of COVID.” Paul referred Dr. Fauci for criminal charges but the Biden DOJ took no action. On his last day in the White House, Joe Biden pardoned Dr. Fauci, who according to Erdman twice inserted himself into intelligence community deliberations to promote a “natural origins” narrative about Covid.
Anthony Fauci earned a medical degree in 1966 but in 1968 took a “yellow beret” job with the National Institutes of Health. His bio showed no degrees in biochemistry or molecular biology but in 1984 the NIH made him head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Nobel laureate Kary Mullis, inventor of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, contended that Fauci “should not be in a position like he’s in.”
Fauci was not a virologist but claimed “I represent science.” If Sen. Paul, a medical doctor, thought the CIA would welcome Erdman’s exposure of this Lysenko figure, he was in for a surprise.
“The witness testifying today is not appearing as a whistleblower in pursuit of the truth, but instead in response to the subpoena issued by Chairman Paul,” said CIA mouthpiece Liz Lyons, whose previous positions include communications cirector for the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
“This proceeding amounts to nothing more than dishonest political theater masquerading as a congressional hearing,” added Lyons, which from the CIA’s point of view was understandable.
According to Erdman, the intelligence community withheld as many as 2,000 pages of classified material on Covid origins, and the CIA “illegally monitored” the phones and computers of DIG (Deputy Inspector General) personnel and other whistleblowers. There’s a back story here people should know.
Erdman joined the CIA in 2013, the year the composite character president handed the reins to John Brennan, the Gus Hall voter the CIA should never have hired in the first place. Brennan believed jihad was a spiritual quest that had nothing to do with violence. An Obama groupie and promoter of the Iran Deal, Brennan fundamentally transformed the CIA into a partisan agency deployed on the domestic front. That shift is reflected in the title of his 2020 Undaunted: My Fight Against America’s Enemies, at Home and Abroad, a furious regurgitation of the Russia hoax.
Former CIA analyst John Gentry confirmed the shift in Neutering the CIA: Why US Intelligence Against Trump has Long-Term Consequences. Composite character president Obama held no interest in CIA operations, only politics, and Brennan freighted the place with DEI hires. This explains why no CIA official spoke out against Brennan and 50 other intel bosses, including former CIA directors, who in 2020 called the Hunter Biden laptop “Russian disinformation,” which they all knew was false. In 2026, the shrill Liz Lyons only denounces those exposing Dr. Fauci’s NIAID-CIA gambit.
On his last day in the White House, Joe Biden pardoned Dr. Fauci, hardly the only promoter of the natural origin theory for Covid. Consider James LeDuc, director of the Galveston National Laboratory (GNL), a creation of Fauci’s NIAID and a close collaborator with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), which Dr. Fauci funded to conduct dangerous gain-of-function research.
According to LeDuc, a lab source for Covid was a “conspiracy theory” and “the Chinese just happened to be in the place where this was discovered.” LeDuc got no presidential pardon and neither did Dr. Nancy Messonnier, longtime director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) and the government’s first mouthpiece on Covid.
In a series of telebriefings in early 2020, Dr. Messonnier announced the arrival of a “novel coronavirus” emerging from the “Wuhan market.” When asked about travel from Wuhan, Dr. Messonnier said she was “not at liberty” to discuss it. Dr. Messonnier began her career as an officer of the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, a squad of “disease detectives” tasked with preventing dangerous viruses from arriving on American soil.
Sen. Paul might call in LeDuc to testify about Covid origins and Dr. Messonnier to explain why the vaunted Epidemic Intelligence Service failed to prevent Covid from arriving stateside. Was anybody disciplined, demoted or dismissed? The CIA also has plenty to explain.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has discovered intel participation in the Russia hoax and other partisan operations tracing back to Obama. With her husband diagnosed with cancer, Gabbard is now stepping down as DNI. President Trump needs to appoint someone who will continue the probe, wherever it leads, and where necessary had it over to the DOJ.
The CIA failed to prevent 9/11 and Islamic terrorist attacks at Fort Hood (2009), the Boston Marathon (2013), San Bernardino (2015) and Orlando in 2016, all with massive loss of life, and the agency played no role in the takedown of the terrorists. The new DNI should learn from the late Angelo Codevilla, one of the few to see everything the CIA wanted money for.
“America’s Intelligence agencies are the deep state’s deepest part, and the most immediate threat to representative government,” wrote Codevilla in 2020. “Intelligence officials abuse their positions to discredit opposition to the Democratic Party, of which they are part. Complicit with the media, they leverage the public’s mistaken faith in their superior knowledge, competence, and patriotism to vilify their domestic enemies from behind secrecy’s shield.”
Therefore, abolish FISA, reform the FBI and “break up” the CIA. The people will be watching.
