July 2 (UPI) — A pair of experienced campers in Britain broke a Guinness World Record by erecting their two-man tent in a time of 1 minute and 4.95 seconds.
Param Tanna and Adam Greenstreet took on the record for the fastest time to erect a two man tent (team of two), and managed to beat the previous record by just under 3 seconds.
“As I grew up, I knew there must be a record I could beat,” Tanna told Guinness World Records. “I found this record a few years back and talked to a few people about it but never actually actioned on it until last year, I knew Adam would be a great fit as he’s very skillful when it comes to scouting skills and I wouldn’t say I’m too bad either.”
Tanna said a lifetime of camping and scouting experience helped them prepare for the attempt.
“We know there are other people in scouting that could definitely beat this record and we also believe our winning attempt could’ve been a lot quicker,” he said.
The men are now hoping to assemble a larger group of people to take on the title for the fastest time to erect a four man tent (team of 10).
